About Cariculture
A New Tradition for the Gulf Coast
Our Story
Cariculture was born from a vision: to bring the world-class energy of Caribbean carnival to the Gulf Coast of Texas. Baytown — a vibrant, diverse city with deep roots in the Caribbean and African diaspora — is the perfect home for this celebration.
Inspired by the grandeur of Toronto's Caribana, the spectacle of Rio de Janeiro's Carnival, and the soulful tradition of New Orleans' Mardi Gras, Cariculture is more than a parade. It is a cultural movement — a declaration that the Gulf Coast has its own story to tell.
The inaugural Cariculture Parade on June 12, 2027 will feature costumed bands, steel orchestras, live soca and calypso performances, a Caribbean food village, cultural exhibitions, and a community celebration unlike anything the region has seen before.
